This is choreography of Anatolian women dances with the classical art music from Ottoman Empire.
THRACIAN DANCES-SILIVRI REGION DANCES
Silivri is a town in the northwest part of Turkey and Istanbul. The dances are mostly very rhythmic and most of them are in 9/8 Turkish rhythms.
SILIFKE REGION DANCES
Silifke is a small region in the southern part of Anatolia. “Spoon dances” are known as traditional dances of this region.
ASHIK-MASHIK
A traditional game of Silifke region. Silifke is a small town in the southern part of Anatolia. Two men are playing. One represents woman, the other man as lover. They are painting their body as the faces of lovers. An entertainment show of lovers’ takes places. The game represents the lovers’ relations as a joke.
BLACKSEA DANCES
Blacksea is the region in the northern part of Anatolia. Dances are very active lively just like the fishes in the Blacksea.
ANKARA SEGMEN DANCES
Turkish Segmen folk dances are from Ankara. Segmens figured prominently in Turkish Independence War between 1919 and 1923. Ankara is the capital of Turkey and located in the central Anatolia.
TURKISH RTHYM SHOW
Turkish rhythms performed by dancers. 5 drums and 8 darbuka (a type of Turkish drum) and 12 bendir (a type of Turkish drum) will be used by the dancers. The show may be interactive with the audiences joining with their claps.
